SCHOOL RESIDENCIES

Making Your Own History: Creating and Telling Your Stories (grades K-12) - Bring to life your personal and family stories through storytelling, writing, oral history interviewing and drama. Participants explore issues of identity, history, culture and community. This residency can culminate in a student performance.

Tall Tales (grades 3-12) - Stretch the truth and perfect the art of exaggeration! Meet tall tale giants such as Paul Bunyan, Sally Ann Thunder, John Henry, and more. Students will explore these historical characters, learn the basics of storytelling and create original tales through writing and performance exercises.

Powerful People, Stories of Heroes and Sheroes (grades 3-12) - Discover the power of the people! Learn about real -life heroes such as Ruby Bridges, Martin Luther King, Gandhi and more. Participants role-play heroes and scenes to explore how they, too, can act heroically. Through drama and storytelling students develop conflict resolution skills and create original work.

Creative Storytelling through Folktales, Fables and Fairytales (grades pre K-12) - Enter the magical world of the imagination through creative dramatics, movement and storytelling. By playing with the tales of the past, students develop teamwork skills, self-expression and critical literacy.

WEEKEND RESIDENCIES
Bring the art of Jewish storytelling to your community! Carla will present a dynamic weekend of performances and workshops tailored to your group.

SHABBATON
• Enhance your Shabbat service, Friday and Saturday, with sacred stories from the Jewish Oral Tradition. • Explore the Art of Jewish Stories through a Family Storytelling Workshop. The entire family can participate in this adventure by creating and sharing their own original tales. • Treat Sunday School students to a Creative Storytelling workshop in which they will bring important Jewish themes to life through the oral tradition.
